If you don't know yet David Whyte, I highly recommend you to check his work out, being one of our greatest contemporary poet.

In this poem, David captures beautifully and profoundly the essence of a men's group experience.

At a time when the masculine wants to fix, recommend, suggest, or advise, for which there is nothing wrong, there is a missing point. Prior to those needs to emerge a missing connection, a relating with the other. A simple sense of showing that he has been heard and seen by an empathetic ear and connected heart. That he is not alone.

"The ultimate touchstone of friendship is not improvement, neither of the self nor of the other; the ultimate touchstone is witness, the privilege of having been seen by someone and the equal privilege of being granted the sight of the essence of another, to have walked with them and to have believed in them, and sometimes just to have accompanied them for however brief a span, on a journey impossible to accomplish alone."
